I won! :)

May 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Lately, I have been having lots of fun doing scrap/art related challenges over at Creative Therapy.   Well, last week I won one of the awesome RAK’s for participating!  :)  I am so excited!

Every week a winner is selected by random draw from that weeks participants and then post the winner mid-week.  What is so adorable is that “the little boy” holds up the winner’s name and a picture is taken.  It is adorable! I was thrilled to see him holding my name!  Thank you cute little boy! :)

Check out what I won!  The gift is coming from Scarlet Lime who was the sponsor of the week’s Creative Therapy Catalyst.  This is one of their awesome monthly kits from May!  Can you believe all the stuff in this kit?  Christy Tomlinson (the owner of Scarlet Lime) was so generous to donate the prize!  Thank you ma’am!  Can’t wait to play with the goodies!

If this kit has you drooling, like it does me… go check out Scarlet Lime and if you are in need of a prompt or challenge to get your creative juices flowing, go check out Creative Therapy! :)

New Layout and Awesome Collab Kit Announcement! :)

May 1st, 2008 · 1 Comment

The designers at A Cherry On Top came up with a whole new twist on collaborative kits!  Each of us designed a mini kit according to an agreed upon color scheme.  The results are amazing!  This is great for customers too!  You get to pick and choose which pieces of the kit you want to purchase!  How awesome is that?  :)

Here is my contribution to the Collection #1- Revitalized ACOT Collab kit…. which will make it’s debut a little later today!  Just in time for National Scrapbook Day 2008!

Collection #1- Revitalized

Here is a layout of my daughter, Andrea,  She turns 18 in about a week!  Ughh!  I cannot believe how fast time flies.  I could have sworn that just yesterday, she was a baby!  I created using my mini kit and the stitching is from Julie Bullock.  Fun Stuff! :)

Oh… and don’t forget ACOT is having a weekend long celebration for NSD 2008!  It is sure to be a great time!  The CT always has tons of great challenges, games, chats, and prizes!

My husband, son, and I went to Eureka Springs, AK for a much needed, weekend get-away.   I was in awe of the beauty that surrounded me and felt completely refreshed when we came home.  Feasting on the beauty of God’s creation was good for my soul!

I discovered this song by FlyLeaf, called There for You.   There is a verse in this song that perfectly describes what I hear when I see the beauty God created for his children.

Spring Wordart

April 17th, 2008 · No Comments

I am so happy that Spring has finally arrived!  This is my favorite time of year!  I love the flowers, the rain, and the promise of new beginnings!  To celebrate I would like to offer you a couple of free Wordart downloads.  These files are in PNG format so if you use a graphics program like Photoshop, the background is transparent.  Which means you can layer it!  I have also included a mini tutorial that demonstates how to add word art to your photos before you print.  You can also print the wordart out on cardstock or a transparency to use in your projects and layouts.  Enjoy!

Happy Spring Photo

To add wordart to a photo using Photohshop:

Please Note:  This will make permanent changes to your photo once you save it, so make sure you create a duplicate copy of your photo before proceeding.

1.  Open your photo and the wordart file in Photoshop.

2.  Make sure your wordart file is active and hit CTRL+A, to select the word art.  You should see “marching ants” around the canvas.

3.  Now press CTRL+C to copy the selection.

4. Activate the file with the photo and click CTRL+V.  This will paste the selected word art into a new layer in your photo file.

5. Make sure the layer with the word art is the active layer and select the Move Tool from the Tool Box at the left of the screen.  It looks like this—>  Capture   Now, position the word art where you would like it on your photo.

6.  Save and print!

Tip:  You can change the color of your wordart to fit your photo better.  With the word art layer selected, go to Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation>  and play around with the sliders to change the colors of your word art.

Happy Spring!
